    Water pressure regulator??

Hey gang, a couple weeks ago we picked up our 2021 Reflection 315rlts. On our last camper we had a basic straight through type water pressure regulator that claimed to be pre set at 45psi but the water pressure still seemed to be lacking.
Our Reflection has the Furrion tankless water heater, and I understand it makes decisions based on pressure. I'm wondering what adjustable pressure regulator are you guys using.
I'm seeing a Valterra at Camping World for $60 ish, and I also see one on Amazon, RVGUARD brand in the $30ish range. Anyone care to share some thoughts on my way forward?
    Thanks

I have had the RV guard 30.00 brand for 6 years , no problems.
Set at 50 psi and never set it again.
I don’t any flow restrictions with it.
    It works!

If you really want top-of-the-line, look here:

    https://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/a...ble-regulators

We use a cheaper adjustable (but have had to replace it every 18 - 24 months) and keep one of these for backup:

    https://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/h...ater-regulator

The latter is very high flow.

Do you put yours out at the spigot, or at the end of the hose before the house inlet? I don't like leaving expensive things outside so I guess the risk would be to the water hose from the spigot if the regulator were connected in the bay at the inlet...?

Both for risk of theft and exposure to sub-freezing temps (we're full-timers), I put the pressure regulator in the heated service bay next to the water filter. We use a heavy-duty water hose and have never had an issue with a hose bursting or leaking. I also have a "Y" setup with flex hose for the black tank flush:

    Rob,

You didn't include the Amazon links to the parts, like you've done previously. I used that previous post to set up my water input exactly like this and it works great. Thanks.

It's about the flow rate of the regulator..... those straight through regulators reduce the flow too much.

I bought a house type, adjustable regulator from Home Depot years ago, before everyone jumped on the band-wagon selling "RV" regulators with built in gauges. I even installed a gauge since back then no one did. I set it for 45psi way back when and never have had to readjust it.

The reason for the house type was for a good flow, it will allow full flow through a 3/4" pipe. That way I knew I wouldn't get a low flow rate no matter the pressure.

I think you can find less expensive but good flow regulators on Amazon.

I always put mine on the campgrounds faucet. You want to reduce the pressure on your hoses as much as, if not more, than you RV.

You could go a custom route and use a real pressure regulator, not a flow restrictor like most of the RV "regulators". I had this in my Momentum, but haven't thought of an good way to mount it yet in my Reflection. I put a quick connect on the bottom and well. Click image for larger version.

And, let's not forget, that they only reduce pressure to a pre-set rate, not increase it if it is too low coming in.

Some people assume 45 psi is 45 psi......if it's only coming in at 30, it won't raise it to 45.
