    F350 DRW valve extension?

Hello, all. I am Lonestar and this is my first post although I have been a member gathering info since last year. My tow vehicle is a 2016 F350 DRW. Background: I had extensions for the inners and they worked. While in the bumpy roads of Big Bend this past week, one of the extensions slid back between the tires. It would up creating a major problem in the sidewall as well as blowing out the stem which caused the tire to go flat. I noticed it after we got back to the park, as I am constantly walking around the truck and trailer. I was able to find a old used tire to replace the spare I put on the ground. Question I have for the group is what type of extensions do you advice to use? Thank you for your time and consideration.

I've used three types of extensions over the years, and now use none. They all either leaked, or caused the type of problem you've experienced. If you have a decent tire
gauge that is designed to work with duallies, there shouldn't be any issue with checking the pressure without the extensions. Yes, it can be a bit of a hassle hitting the valve
stem sometimes, but c'est la vie.

Agree with Hoopy Frood. No extensions. Took me awhile to find the right tire inflator which was a 12" Milton. Still takes some work to get a good seat on the stems, but works well.

I agree with Captcolour and Hoppy Ford.

Here is the tire inflator I bought for my Viair Compressor, it has the properly angled head to reach the dualies and it is a quality tool...

Welcome to the forum. Agree with above, no extension needed with the correct air chuck. I kept the air chuck in my truck if I ever needed air while on the road. It's also helpful to use the check valve style valve caps so you dont need to remove them to check or fill the tires.

Yup, no extensions here either. My Viair compressor came with an tire inflator that works well for me.

I bought extensions -- cannot remember where (Amazon?), I ribbited (spelling?) an "L" shaped piece onto the hub cap to mount the extension to. I have tire pressure monitors on all tires so I had to have the extensions.

I use a 6" flexible extension and then zip tie it to the outside valve stem. Seems to be working well so far. They have been on the truck about 2 years so far. This is the only way I have found to air up the inner tire.

Yes, that is what I use, but there are two styles and one of them didn't work well for me. I had to use the one that's looks a little odd, not the most common one.
