Murphy Bed Mod

I saw some post looking for a cover for the upper Murphy Bed. There was mention of a Facebook Group. I know there’s a lot of people who don’t use Facebook me being one of them. So I figured I share my solution, I believe it turned out really nice with a factory look. So I just purchased a second upper wood piece from Grand design. They list 2 parts, I ordered

Part 651933 : MDF 5/8 X 60 7/8 X 7 MOBSTER MAPLE 3D TRANSITION HEADER 6H-04-C

$100 with shipping.
I had to remove the side edge with a heat gun, trimmed it about 1/4” glued it back with contact cement.
I used 2 small stainless steel piano hinges, self sticky Velcro on the sides to hold it in place. My wife is very happy with it.
