I towed an Imagine 2800BH with my 2016 F150 with 1964lbs of payload. After 3 months of not feeling safe when being passed by big trucks I traded the 6 month old 2016 F150 in on a new 2017 F350 diesel and traded the 3 month old 2017 2800BH in on a 2017 Reflection 337RLS 5th wheel.

Before giving up on the F150/2800BH combo I tried to make it work.

1-I replaced the spring bars on my Blue Ox weight distribution hitch , NO IMPROVEMENT
2- I installed Air Bags on my F150, NO IMPROVEMENT
3- I purchased. $2,500 Propride hitch and installed it. 80% IMPROVEMENT

By then my wife was afraid of the F150/2800BH ride on highways so I made decision to go big.

Now saying that, I bought the F350 and only one time did I tow the 2800BH with it was to take it in to the dealer to trade it it on the Reflection 5th wheel. That trip I used the Blue Ox hitch and it towed great. No sway or effect being passed by big trucks. So that confirmed that my issue was my F150 was not enough truck for a 7000 lb long travel trailer.

So almost 5 years later we’re still loving the Reflection 5th wheel F350 combo. It’s rock solid on the road. I replaced the 2017 F350 with a special ordered F350 to get additional options like adaptive cruise, LED headlights etc.

We had an Imagine 2400BH that I towed with a 2017 F150 3.5L crew cab short box. Had the equalizer bars on and adjusted properly. When semi trucks would go past me on the freeway, it felt like the whole rig floated. After a few months of not feeling safe going down the road, I bought a used 2016 F350 diesel. Driving with the F350, you had to look in the mirror to know you were towing a trailer. If you are going for a Super duty, just go to the F350. Sometimes I wonder why they even make the F250. And then, of course, after a couple of years, we "had to" get a fifth wheel.

Payload and sway were my question marks. I answered those by getting a ProPride hitch and HDPP. The HDPP gives me 2500 lbs of payload which has proven to be plenty for my setup, and zero sway with the ProPride.

I didn't look at the 2600RB specs but based on model my 2800BH is longer and probably heavier. As you can see everyone's opinion / tolerance is different.

I am happy with the way the 2800BH tows behind my F150, my prior TT was not safe behind it. I have a LWB and blue ox sway pro hitch. Do I feel movement from trucks and wind, yes you always will even big trucks do.

What else will you have in the truck? What percentage of use is towing? Our towing is probably 10% of the use so we were not going back to a 3/4+ ton truck do the the ride the other 90% of the time.

If my truck was primarily for towing I would have stayed with a 3/4 ton and kept the prior trailer.

I have a similar set up, F150 Super crew cab, 4x4, 3.5 Eco Boost with 6.5' box. The MLTWR is 10700, GVWR is the same at 7050 and GCWR is 16100. Truck payload is 1274 after weighing the truck. It can be a bit limiting once you factor the passengers and Tongue/hitch weight so be careful what you carry.
I also use a Hensley hitch which in my opinion is the critical item. Absolutely no movement from big rigs, very relaxed towing.
Very pleased with the F150 & the GD 22MLE and its capabilities, my setup is at about 80% of the GCWR figure so plenty of safety built in. But be careful with the truck GVWR.

I have towed my 2017 Imagine 2600RB over 40,000 miles with a RAM, 1500, 5.7 HEMI. The Ford you have should pull it with no problem. Sure you can buy a bigger vehicle but if you don't need it for anything else, it is a waste of money.

Can you tow a 2600RB with an f150 3.5l Ecoboost? Yes, you can. However, a better question is whether you'll feel confident and in-control towing a 2600RB with an f150? In my case, the answer was "no". It was the tail wagging the dog. I did tow my 2600RB with an f150 for a couple of years. It had plenty of power, and I was under all my weight limits. It towed great as long as there was no wind. Passing semi trucks and winds 15+ mph quickly made things very uncomfortable. I tried adding air bags. I changed out the tires. i changed out the rear shocks. None of it helped. I finally traded the f150 on a Chevy Silverado 2500HD and it was night-and-day better. Go with a 3/4-ton truck. You'll be much happier.

I used to have a 2600RB and pulled it with a RAM 2500 Diesel short bed and it was a very nice combination. I upgraded trailer and after a few trips I now have an F350 on order.

I have a 2021 GD2500. I have a 2020 F150 with 8cyc engine with tow package. I can carry 2063. Have a E2 hitch. From near Memphis this year I have gone to Destin Fl and back, Key West Fl and back, Santa Fe, Roswell, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Mounuments, over the Great Divide to Dodge City and back. Even went through a dust devil in NM. Except for that I had no problems. Very little sway, very little push from 18 wheelers, never ran hot or lacked power in the mountains. Couldn’t be more happy with my F150. I test drove the F250 the day I bought and decided it was too much truck for when not pulling. All my weights are good. I can tow up to 9100 lbs. The 7050 is the weight of your truck and carry capacity.

I traded a 2011 F150 that is not half the truck the 2020 is. The newer F150’s properly set up are beast. Mine came with pro back up, hitch assist, electric breaks, skid plates, F4X, tow mode, etc.

Crunch your own numbers and don’t listen to people with older model F150s. Most people don’t believe my carry capacity until they look at my indoor sticker.

If you have any plans to go over any mountain passes, you'll need a bigger truck. Our first trip out with our Imagine XLS 2300BH was a nightmare. Our F150 was overheating on all the passes and like others mentioned, we were swaying quite a bit even though we have the upgraded hitch. I thought that after that trip, we were going to sell the trailer it was so miserable.

On our next trip out we rented an F250 Diesel. WOW, talk about a complete turnaround. Night and Day. So, we purchased a gas F250 and now camping is fun. The downside is that we miss our F150 twin turbo, but either it had to go or the trailer did.
