If you can afford to go bigger, go bigger. That's my opinion. The tranny will wear out long before the engine will towing.

I rented a similar sized trailer when I had that same truck. he truck handled it, but crosswinds and passing trucks make it interesting, because the truck is so light ( only about 4800 lbs.) Your available payload will be about 1700 lbs. depending on the exact configuration and options,. The trailer will chew up about between 900 and 1100 of that. The WD hitch (and be sure to get a WD hitch) will be another 100 lbs. If you don't have the truck yet, drive the 250/350. You'll like the ride and handling of the F-150 more, but how much more is a matter of personal preference. If you can tollerate it in your daily drive, always get more truck than you think you need.

    You have 7050 above

So that 1746 will be closer to 1600 if you scaled it so it is borderline
Only you can make that decision

I tow a 2400 and I am at max gvwr

I have a year old F150 with the standard suspension, and it's showing 7,700 max. trailer towing. I put my 4,500 lb. pontoon boat and trailer behind it and the engine and tranny is well up to the job. I just don't like how the suspension handles a load--like the rear shocks are weak.

I still have my old F250 7.3 diesel crew cab, and it tows that pontoon like it's not even back there. There's a big difference in 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks. And if ordered apples and apples, there's not that much price differential.

I had a F150 with a similar setup. Weight-wise you should be OK. If the truck has "P" tires consider switching to "LT" tires, it made a big difference in stability at the expense of a harsher unloaded ride.
I was 200# over on my gross and rear axle but my payload was 1486# on the steel body F150 towing our 2650.
Rather than spec out a new F150 I made the jump to a F250. Big, BIG improvement in stability and braking. We hit 30 MPH crosswinds (gusts to 50 MPH) and it was rock solid.
