    Pin lock - LOCKED!

Yesterday I got a Vulcan steel pin lock to deter would be thieves from Amazon. Placed it on the pin, locked it -SAFE. Unlocked it to remove, and the little barrel that locks it in place refused to retract! Now, I have to break into a device designed to stay on! I'm just a little miffed....
Going to try to drill the lock out before bringing in the grinder! Ugh

I have never seen one of these in person so this might be useless, but is there means for a magnet to help you? I once had a puck-style lock where the internal spring broke. If you've seen this type of lock, cutting is practically impossible without damage. Holding the key in the unlocked position, I was able to use the magnet to manually pull the pin back.

I got lucky. Before resorting to drilling out the lock, or the nuclear option of cutting the lock completely off, I tried to use a scribe to get between the housing and the king pin to attempt pushing the plunger back in. It took me about 30 seconds. I got the lock off and all is right with the world. I still need a pin lock though... Back to the drawing board.

This is what I use. It's expensive, but it's as near bulletproof as I could find. I have never had a problem with it and you can get multiple locks made that are all keyed the same.

I'm still trying to figure out why Amazon thieves need to steal back what they sold you?!

Ha! Love it! My aunt used to yell "Stop! A head!" whenever ever we came up on a "Stop Ahead" road sign.
