    Furion Thermostat. Heater and Boondocking

My 2022 Imagine 2600RB has a Furion Furnace, thermostat and Air Conditioner. According to a Service Manager at GD, there is a flaw in the system that prevents the sensor from working when not hooked up to shore power. The fan on the AC has to have power in order be able to use the heater in a normal manner.

A friend of mine has the 2021 2600RB. He spoke to Furion about his furnace not ever shutting off while running on battery. Furion confirmed to him that what I stated above is the case and basically told him while boondocking, your furnace is a manual operation. He confirmed this by setting the thermostat to a desired temperature, setting the fan to A and connected to shore power. The furnace functioned as it should.

The temperature sensor for the system is in the ceiling AC blower section.

The service Manager I spoke to at GD is sending me a kit that resolves the issue that I will install. I talked to a fellow today who was in our campground that has the same model and year as mine. He got GD to authorize the installation of the kit by his dealer. The new temperature sensor is mounted adjacent to his entry door on the wall to the left as you enter the trailer. It looks like a round black 2" speaker (for lack of a better description).

I decided after speaking with GD, that I could do it myself. I was sent installation instructions via email, that I would be happy to share. I have not got the kit yet.
I should have posted this on INTERIOR, being a Newby, I don't know how to change it.

You are correct but none specifically for a 2022 model.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the post Steve.

Let us know how easy the kit install is & what it looks like, particularly the wiring. Include some pictures if you can.

Furrion & GD has has messed up a pretty basic system & now the consumer is the last 30' of the production line.

I'll be towing this winter & need the furnace to operate on the battery.

    Happy camping.

If you do not relocate the temperature sensor outside the AC intake plenum, you will have to run the AC fan constantly on H, not A. That requires shore power. Running the fan constantly keeps room air moving over the sensor. You can push the sensor through the AC filter so it hangs underneath the AC grill, and not run the AC fan, but I’m not sure how well the system will regulate to the set temperature. I have not proved this fix works, but believe it will at least do an acceptable job. The only real fix is to use the wiring kit to relocate the temperature sensor onto a wall. I’ve installed the kits in my rig. It’s not hard to do. I ran the exposed wires through white plastic conduit I bought at Lowe’s.

Thanks so much. I got the kit but my rig is in the shop with range ignitor issues and a new brain for the refrigerator. I asked them that they submit a request to fix the factory acknowledged design flaw in the heating system.
