I worked in the auto industry 36 years.

I'm not about to pay someone exactly what they paid for a vehicle when it's almost 4 years old.

Hang back a little while, and there will be a bunch of 3/4 ton trucks hitting the retail market with big factory incentive programs and/or APR programs. Ford alone had 50,000 SuperDuty trucks sitting in the Louisville Airport grounds over a month ago. When they hit dealer lots, Ford will want'em sold quick.

Well I’m sure most people never planned on paying 4 to 5 times as much for lumber as they did last year but that’s exactly what has been happening. It’s where the market is at and if I was a seller than why shouldn’t I get what the going rate is? Look at the used (and new) RV market for that matter.

I’m sure it will correct at some point, lumber has started, at least at the wholesale level. The truck market is a ways off IMO. Judging by what I’ve read in the truck forums, I would bet the vast majority of those trucks sitting are already sold. Auto factories are still being shut down due to the chip shortage with no end to that in sight.

If someone wants/needs something now it’s gonna cost
