    Bad day

I have a 2600RB that I didn’t use last year, or this year. I’ve been keeping an eye on the inside to watch for possible critters. I’ve also kept an eye on, but hadn’t closely inspected the caulking on the windows and roof. I sometimes have a balance problem so I don’t want to climb on the roof.

Yesterday I walked out to the trailer to check the inside, and see 2 areas of delamination on the drivers side. One was below the bedroom window, and a larger one about 2 feet down from the roof and about a foot from the slide out.

I go inside and fun the slide out, and see the inside bedroom wall looks bubbled under the window. I turned the air conditioning on, and the compressor starts, but the fan doesn’t. Even on the fan setting, it won’t run. Great!

I then look at the base of the bed and see raccoon crap.[emoji15]
I start looking for a hole somewhere big enough for a raccoon to enter/leave, and in the kitchen I find a 5 foot long rat snake skin.[emoji15][emoji15]

I continue looking and can’t find anywhere that has a hole. All the cabinet doors and drawers are closed tight.

I went out again today, and climbed the rear ladder but couldn’t see anywhere anything could get in. Still can’t find a place where something could have got in.

    I am bummed!

@Gearhead21 Take a look around the wheel areas. It is an easy access for critters.

Oh, wow! Sorry to hear this. Hopefully you're well positioned with insurance on the camper! Don't xleN anything up until an adjuster has seen it. As for the raccoon, not unheard of for them to break into the pass through storage and figure out how to push the tilt bed up.

That's heartbreaking to find that kind of damage. Water leaks can cause the delamination . If you kept up with the sealant inspections and replacement as needed contact GD on the delamination. Any persistant critter can pry it's way in under the coroplast.

As mentioned above hope your insurance will cover it all.

I bought it in 2016, so highly doubtful they would cover this.

I live on 5 acres in the country. I have a lot of raccoons in the area and have seen enough to know. But thanks for the website.

    That sounds awful!

you had me at the snake skin. I would have burned the entire thing right then and there.

I just pulled everything out of the pass through storage area. No sign of intrusion to it, or from it into the cabin.

I went through every cabinet, and where the plumbing goes through the floor. Nothing in the cabinets was disturbed, and I couldn’t see any movement of the foam around the pipes going under the floor.

I did see that the trim above the slide out seems to have grown about an inch and a half, and will not fit to the wall.

Also, today the propane alarm is beeping like a dead battery, but it seems to be hardwired and no battery.
