Stabilizers

Do the Anderson strong arm stabilizer make much of a difference and do any use the tripod pin stabilizer. If so do you find a significant difference in the feel inside the trailer

My Solitude has a trailer hitch on the back. Morryde has just come out with a bipod stabilizer that attaches to the receiver on the hitch. I bought one. The two legs swing down & you tighten by the use of a supplied ratchet strap. It definitely helps stabilize rear of trailer. When you want to leave you use the included hardware pins to attach the legs to each other in the raised position. Simple & effective.

No I used to carry one around but it was a pain to unpack & then store again.

I have and use a back stabilizer, not a MORryde but it looks the same. It does work. I also use between the wheels chocks and they do help.

We had two Valterra 020106 RV Stabilizers from our previous rig so tried them out on our Solitude 3740BH-R. Put one on the back hitch frame (perpendicular to the RV) and the other along the driver side frame under the front MB bedroom slide. Not on the slide mind you, but on the RV's frame that is under the slide. We can tell the difference when we don't use them. For $60-70 each they are cheaper than the hitch stabilizer and if the camp side ground doesn't support the back frame I can always move them. I will admit the hitch mount would be more convenient.

We changed our kingpin to the MORryde pin box that moves and based on the reviews of others, we didn't get a kingpin tripod. We don't have a washer or dryer so can't comment if a tripod helps there but saw some say it does.

Since the Valterta stabilizers work, I haven't looked to see if the strong arm or other permanently mounted solution would be as good or better but if any has used both and can comment I'd be interested in the feedback.

The king pin tripod is pretty much a waste of money. The JT Strongarms OTOH work great. We had both on our last 5th wheel, and the tripod went away quickly.

What specifically makes the king pin tripod a waste of money? I am thinking of buying one.

I made little to no difference in the movement in the trailer. We tried it many different ways, but nothing made any difference. And it's awkward to pack around. Add the two together and
we gave it away. Which I'm sure the person I gave it to did as well.

It's one of those things that look like they would work great, but just don't.

The only thing that really worked was the JT Strongarm.
