    Electric power cord reel

Finally did the mod I've wanted to do since my last unit. I hate dragging out the whole 50 amp cord every time!

The 375 is set up perfectly for this. The OEM connection goes right into a compartment that is almost perfect. I just had to raise the top about 3/4" to fit the reel.

Nice install. I did exactly the same (somewhere on this site are photos). I have since installed a light in that area where the reel is to be sure the cord winds correctly as sometimes it would wind too much on one side and bump up against the shelf above the compartment.

I keep my key on a key coiled springeee-like key cord in my wet bay and it stretches over to the lock on door.

I really wanted it mounted further from the wall so I could reach in if needed to guide the cord but a tank vent is right behind it. So far its worked fine.

I just changed out the key for the thumb latch. I didn't see the point of locking it. I think the door could be popped with a quarter!

Nice idea - the thumb latch. Wouldn't you know it..... I just bought a new stretchy cord today because the old one was worn out. It figures....... I guess I'll keep using the key for a while.

Would you give the name and model number of the reel that you used? Also about how much 50 amp cord would this reel hold? TIA

It holds 50' of cord. I turned my OEM cord into a 50 amp extension cord which gives me another 36'. I'll rarely need it but better to not need and have then the alternative.
