Replacing the air replacement valve issue. Yeah, I searched.

The kitchen air replacement valve has failed and time to replace.
Can't get the old valve off.
    Anyone been through this?

Is the stock ARV glued on or just screwed on really tight?
Don't want to break the plumbing while trying to fix it.

Any tips or pointers will be appreciated.

It would help to know what trailer you have.

I had to replace the one on my kitchen sink in the island. I had to disconnect the plumbing from the p-trap and the pipe tilted out. Then unscrewed the old AAV. The AAV is screwed on. No glue. When you put your new one on use some Teflon tape.

Also, when you replace it, don't get the cheap one they come with that has a plastic flapper valve. The Studor brand is residential quality and has a stainless steel valve.https://www.amazon.com/IPS-20299-RED...%2C247&sr=8-10

The mfgs use a cheap plastic valve that costs them about $5. Most home centers sell that one too.

On the last 2 I replaced I did not need to use the threaded adapter shown on the left. Just used the valve shown on the right and it threaded in perfectly.
