Exercising a generator without a battery installed
I have my FW battery in the garage on a battery tender and wanted to exercise my Honda 2200 and my Generac 5500 generator, without installing the 12V DC battery.
I would plan to extend slides and run the AC or heat for a good hour.
I was concerned that some of the systems (maybe heat) might need 10.5V DC to energize sail switch etc..
Would there be any negative consequences to exercising these generators without a battery installed?

I think you are fine just be sure the battery cables are not touching anything as they will become energized from the converter.

As another option, if you have an electric space heater you could use that to put a load on the generator and then you dont need to mess with the RV shore power cord or worry about battery wires touching each other. A 1500w space heater will draw about 12A.
