Seems to be the norm now unfortunately. I was thinking about moving up to a 5th wheel but agree with the article. I am terrified of trading in my 297RSTS which has been not been perfect but only some minor issues so far and getting one of these rolling problems that we keep hearing more of.

I think we will wait and see what happens in the next year or so since we are in no rush to upgrade.

I'm under no illusions about what we might get with our order. Dealer did express some exasperation with the quality of the other brand that they sell. Getting up in years so waiting a couple is no longer an option so I'll just deal with what I get.

The take home message is the dealers are blaming the manufacturers. The manufacturers in turn are blaming the workers. Unfortunately, it's the buyer (at the bottom of the food chain) that is currently paying premium prices to assume all the problems of the dealers and the manufacturers. Caveat Emptor.

It is good to hear that some manufacturers are trying to put out a good product. I checked on line for his dealership and learned that he does not sell GD products, unless they are used. Which means he would not be able to comment either way good or bad about GD products. If he did sell them hopefully GD would have been on his list of manufacturers trying to do a good job.

I am getting ready to embark on the 3rd renovation of our 1962 Airstream Safari. It is going to be a shell off, new axle, frame repairs, and full interior replacement. I'll let everyone know what kind of quality it is in the end! I'm confident I can meet my expectations. I just need to start ordering all the appliances so my production schedule is not thrown off.

May not have any bearing, but I like to think our sales guy with 34 years at same place is leveling with us. He was open about not being happy with the quality of Forest River units coming in but hasn't seen a huge quality hit with GD. Tiffin they won't see until 2023 earliest. Maybe he's saying that because he knows we are interested in GD. Don't know.
