Roof fan - looking for brand and documentation

I'm trying to find some information on the roof fan I have in my kitchen area and in the garage. They're mounted in a pretty standard location, have 3 speeds, a rain sensor, and a control panel mounted on the wall.

For some reason I can't find what brand this is. I'm looking for documentation since every once in a while, the fan will stop responding to the panel switches. I can still get the vent to open and the fan to spin by pushing the buttons on the unit in the ceiling. Then if I cycle the 12v power, the panel will usually start working again.

I went as far as to pull the control panel off of the garage wall to see if there was a manufacturer name or part number. Nope, nothing in there except a small circuit board. Also, there is only +/-12v supplied to it, so it seemingly communicates with the ceiling unit wirelessly.

If you can help me identify this remote/panel unit, I'll do some investigation on why it might be losing contact with the ceiling unit. TIA!

Generally all component manuals are in your black bag. Was there nothing there?

Check out the Heng’s brand of rv fans, Camping World has them. The Heng’s logo looks like the H on your controller.

Call Grand Design with your VIN. They should be able to tell you what you have.

Yep, it's a Hengs Industriea fan with that controller. Had them in our last coach by FR. No idea of current models, but they were helpful folks when one of our motors died.

    Thanks! Hengs it is.

Online documentation seems sparse. I didn't have anything about it in my black bag. Hmmm ...

Probably had a QR sticker on the unit that was peeled off during prep. Lots of manufacturers are moving to paperless.

It took me several hours of research to find out Hengs is the manufacturer of my Zephyr fan. My screen warped in sun because I put foam in vent to watch TV without glare. If anyone is interested the fantastic fan replacement screen model K2034-1 fits the Zephyr fan.

I had the same problem + more. Heng’s is the mfg but very little help on internet. The remote switch is not logical. Would like to find instructions to work and I think two of three of mine broke when trying to manually raise lid. I haven’t taken apart yet to investigate and was hoping to find published information for replacement parts and schematics. Others must be having issues with this vent and hopefully reviving post will get some info out on web? Thanks Jon

    What age is your unit?

I'm asking because I got a replacement fan for my garage and the newer design Hengs included an operation instruction sheet. If you think that would help, let me know and I'll scan it when I get home.

Thanks for quick reply. If the control wall switch looks like the one in the post, then yes it would be helpful. But if it is on the fan it’s self then no. Just isn’t a hole lot of anything available for them. Heck I might have pick up the phone and get info the old way . Thanks again, Jon
