    Sensors

I hope this is the right place to ask. I've got to replace the sensors on the black and gray waste tanks the problem is the it's sealed underneath and someone sprayed expanding foam along every seam and attachment points of the underliner. Wonder if I could cut a small square hole just big enough to be to reach and replace the sensors in both the black and gray tanks. Then reseal the hole what I cut out and 100 mile hour tape or what is known as duck tape?

With the type of OEM sensors used in RVs, chances are good that, if you replace the current sensors, they'll be gunked up again in a few months. If you're going to go to that trouble, get something like this:

Many of us just learn our habits/patterns and know when to dump without relying on the (unreliable) sensors.

We haven't looked at our black or grey tank monitors in years. We know that about every 6 days we need to dump tanks. We keep track of tank dumps on a dry erase bulletin board along with the last propane fill, last water softener regen, last fridge defrost and our current site #. If we forget to dump tanks, we know its time when the sinks back up or slow to drain or if the toilet burps when flushed.

If you are going to replace, these work very well. Mine are still working great.
