2" receiver hitch on grand design imagine?

Yes rear kitchens are notoriously bad towing rigs due to the extra weight behind the axles

Unsure what you plan on carrying but have you considered a rack over your propane tanks?

I looked into putting a 2" hitch receiver on the back of our Imagine. GD recommended getting the frame hitch from the frame manufacturer, which I believe was Lippert for ours.

Thanks seadog, i will have to check it out. I think Curt makes a product that mounts to your frame that is adjustable and has a 2" receiver on it.

Thank's for all the reply's. I will have to find a shop, and check it out. And a little concerned about the weight on the back of 2250rk not much for tongue weight already.

now that we know which grand design model you have, an imagine 2250RK which is exactly what we have, yes you're going to want to Weld your 2 inch receiver to the frame. We had a professional at a welding shop do ours, he said as he tested his welds, it's probably good for about 700 pounds. Our cargo carrier rack on the back has a Max load of 500 pounds again it will change your tongue weight so take that into account. Gd bumpers are rated at 150 lbs max but we have no plans on using it to hold any real weight.

I bought the bumper reinforcement kit and the bolt-on HD 2" receiver for a bike rack, 2 lightweight bikes, est 25# max. If that doesn't work, will learn to operate my as yet-unused HF tig welder.
