How many people pull a Reflection 303RLS with a 3/4 truck?

After all the post about pullers and campers.....i was just curious, since i have a 2020 Ram 2500 with Cummins goung to be pulling a new 303, just whom out there pulls a 303 with a 3/4 truck of anykind, and what do you think?

Lol......my wife is laughing at me that next.....i will want a 3500. I told her that the 3/4 ton is quite capable and i won't be trading up in puller.

    Thanks

You will probably trade up... We just went for the 1 ton straight away.

Normally the limiting factor with a 5th wheel is payload. What is your payload on the yellow door sticker?

A 303 typically will come within a empty factory pin weight of about 2200 lbs with battery and 2 full propane tanks. When loaded for Travel pin weigh can be anywhere from 2400-2800 lbs.

So add pin weight, hitch weight (~200 lbs) driver and passenger weights, cargo etc. Its highly likely that if your 3/4 ton is a diesel that you will exceed payload.

The more important weight is rear axle weight REAR GAWR. To calculate if you exceed that number you need to get your truck and trailer weighed.

I tow a 337RLS which is about 200-300 lbs heavier pin weight. I tow it with a F350 diesel short bed with a payload of 3,483 lbs. I also use a lightweight Andersen Hitch to reduce weight. With me, my wife a 25 lb dog I’m only about 100 lbs under my 3,483 lbs payload when loaded for travel.

Hmmmm, interesting. I am 2300 on sticker. I have cousin pulling 337 with 3/4 ton ram.
Hmmmm, will see how it works i guess. I have read many post, and looked at signatures and many have 3/4 ton pulling a 337. I hope this works.

Sounds like you will be severely overloaded
That 2300 on your sticker is probably higher than actual. Need to weigh it to know exactly

Funny the tow police on here don’t come out for HD trucks even when they greatly exceed the ratings

So, your saying it will be unsafe to tow the 303 with a 3/4 ton ram 2500 huh NB?

When it comes to questions like these we really need to get away from opinion. Do the weigh your rig dance at a local scale to determine the payload that will be placed on the truck. When you get your new rig that is. Armed with that information you can make a determination about how far over the payload rating you are, assuming you are (I think you will be, but those darn opinions...). People do pull 303s with 3/4 ton diesels, but there is usually some rationalization about why it is safe to do so even though they are over payload.

It will be interesting to see your actual payload vs truck rating. Trucks makers are always upping their game, so maybe that unicorn does exist now, but work with actual weights and your truck sticker numbers.

I towed a 303 with a 3/4 ton gas 6.4 hemi. While all the numbers were in spec, it was not enjoyable to drive or refuel. I upgraded to a diesel 1 ton dually. The dually was overkill, but I never wanted to buy another truck having grown tied of the leapfrog game with rig and truck. Your diesel will give you all you need to move it forward, but you will be near max payload (possibly over), which will have an effect on wear and tear, and most importantly, stopping...unless you install EOH brakes.

    Keep us posted.

Never said that. I said it will be greatly over your limits

The rest is up to you

If your door says 2300 it is likely closer to 2150 actual minus the hitch and you are below 2000 lbs payload before your family gets in
The pin weight will be north of 2500

I guesstimate you will exceed the gvwr by 800 plus pounds
