I have a Dewalt 20V torque gun and it easily takes off my 140 lb ft lug nuts. I put them back on with the gun but do not let it go the full torque. I use a manual torque wrench to do the final tightness.

Not sure I am following you. The 2767-22 that is part of this comes with the tool - TWO batterys and the case/charger - normally $449. They supposedly throw the boot in free.
The 2767-21 come with one battery is 349, so there is a difference. I did fond a 2767-22 on ebay for $399 but it does not have the boot and could be used.
Did you find the 2767-22 (two battery with case/charger) cheaper somewhere?

If you already have Makita 18v batteries, go with Makita. I got a Makita XWT14Z 18V LXT last year and it works great on lug nuts. Small and plenty of power. I also carry deep impact sockets that fit my lugs (both truck and trailer), a 100 ft.lb. torque stick, a 150 ft.lb. manual torque wrench and a Makita 18v tire inflator. The chargers are cheap so I carry one in the truck and one in the fifth wheel.

Last summer I blew a trailer tire and a truck tire within 2 weeks of each other!
My Milwaukee 1/2 Christmas present was more than enough! Battery still showed full after each task.Rick
