Norcold refrigerator works on propane but not electricity

I have a 2017 Momentum 399TH with a Norcold refrigerator. The refrigerator can work on either propane or electricity. The last couple of times I have taken it out and connected to RV park power, the fridge will not start on electricity. It will start right up and cool well on propane. After about 30-45 minutes, I can switch back to electricity and it seems to work and continue cooling on electricity. It just doesn’t seem to want to start on electricity. Any thoughts? I appreciate everyone’s input and time!

Have you checked to make sure you've got it on Auto? The icons are not very clear.

It has an option to use electricity or propane , whichever is available, but will choose electricity first. This icon comes on and a fan in the refrigerator runs, but I hear nothing working from the unit outside.

You won't hear anything running if it's on electric. You will hear the flame if it's on propane. Remember these RV fridges take a long time to cool down.

RV absorption refrigerators do not have compressors in them. They use an electric heating element when in AC mode which is completely silent. My guess is that your fridge is working as it should.

Forum tip: You can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

Forum Actions (on menu bar) -> Edit Profile -> Edit Signature (under My Settings on the left)
