    F350 Window Tint Advice

I picked up a 2022 F350 DRW this past weekend and am desperately in need of window tint. Being in Texas, things get pretty hot down here and I'm tempted to match the 20% all around that's on my wife's SUV. That said, will I have visibility/towing safety issues with the Solitude I'm expecting in December? The tint shop also offered me 35% but I found it to be a bit too light in my old F250, so I'm really on the fence. Any advice is appreciated, Thanks!

Check with your local law enforcement!

Too dark a tint on the windshield and front side windows is illegal in a lot of areas.

To keep the Southern Sun from cooking the interior, use one of these:

    https://www.amazon.com/Powered-Exhau...236040&sr=8-13

It pulls intake air through another window cracked slightly open.

Being legal is important! Next major consideration is if you will tow at night. Dark tints definitely affect night-time visibility. I have 20% on my RAM and visibility for turns on unlit streets is much degraded, and I roll the windows down for any backing or tricky maneuvering. Final thought, invest in high-end film that does not just block UV but also rejects heat. Such films will be a ceramic.

Thanks all. Definitely agree about being legal, so I went with the ceramic 35% on the windows & sunroof, then a clear ceramic on the windshield to try and block some of the infrared.

I had dealer installed tint on my 2016 F150. It was OK during the day but it really hurt visibility out side windows at night.

When I bought our current 2020 Nissan the local Florida dealer tints every vehicle. I negotiated the deal via phone. When I went to pick up the car I test drove it and I felt I was in a dark hole. I refused to accept the car and they removed the tint which took 1/2 a day.

If your concerned with heat gain consider premium ceramic IR tint like https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b5005118130/

Dark doesn’t always equal cooler since dark windows can get very hot. You need high IR rejection.
