So you got solar panels up top...

...And a storm approaches full of hail.
Can those units withstand the wrath of mother nature, say up to a 1/2" of hail?

If not, what would your plan be?

I ask because we camp in Central and Eastern MT and MN where hail can happen quite often.

    From energysage.com https://news.energysage.com/solar-pa...ail-hurricanes:

"Solar panel manufacturers test their products to ensure that they are capable of withstanding hailstorms. In most cases, solar panels are tested to wothstand hail of uo to 25 mm (one inch) falling at 23 meters per second (approximately 50 miles per hour)."

Your solar panel manufacturer should have a spec sheet that will tell you the impact resistance of the panel.

In 2012 we were in Montana with a new truck and older trailer with solar panels and got caught in a hail storm. It dented the hood on the new F250, broke all the sky lights in the trailer and no damage to the solar panels. The solar panels are tough.
