    Nautilus shower door

Just took delivery of a 2022 Imagine 2670MK everything works well, except the shower door will no close it snaps back open with such force that I'm afraid it's going to break. Any suggestions? Is there a way to adjust the tension?
    Thanks

I can't help with the shower door but did want to say welcome to the forum!
Those shower doors are prone to give trouble from what I have read. If it were me I would put a real shower curtain up and never look back.

In another thread on the Nautilus shower door, I asked those with the Nautilus for their opinions on it. I was thinking about removing the glass doors from our shower and installing the Nautilus (I hate cleaning the lower shower rails for the glass doors). Several people responded that not staying closed/snapping back was their main complaint, so it seems to be a fairly common issue. Marcy's suggestion for a shower curtain might be a solution.

Ours stays closed, so far, but man, I can understand the pain. The first time I opened the door from the inside it slipped from my fingers and snapped all the way open with a vengeance. LOL. BAM! It's not my favorite shower door, for sure. Effective, but if I did more showers in my RV (we boondock most of the time, so showering is limited), I'd probably end up replacing it with a curtain. Even in the best of cases, it's not like I'm standing there taking a long, luxurious shower anyway.

We have one on our '19 295RL. It too would sometimes retract back suddenly when closed too. Discovered the header wassn't secure properly at the factory. One corrected by the dealership, it works great.

Tip: When closing during a shower, press the handle forward slightly and then pull back toward the opening after placing it next to side rail to ensure a solid latch. Found that this would ensure the door wouldn't retract on its own, and have not had an issue since in 2 years. Same goes when opening, pull toward the side rail and slightly push away to disengage. Be sure to firmly keep fingures in slot as to not allowing it to retract violently causing possible damage. .

The new 295RL's seem to have the 3 overlapping shower sliding doors instead.... GD must have had lots of complaints and changed it. Might consider some day if our retractable goes bad.

What he said ^^ It took me a little bit to get the hang of it. And yes it's really really spring loaded.

Thanks for all the replies, but I fixed it. Looking at the side rail and holding the door closed I noticed the rail was about 1/16 of an inch off so the latch wouldn't catch, a couple of taps with a mallet solved the problem, works fine now.

We have the same shower 'door' and have no problems. It does take a 'knack' to get it to latch.

I just spoke with a fellow 2960RL owner of a 2022 that complained of not being able to latch their shower door.

Funny story, when we were looking at trailers before buying I got into the shower of one and closed the Nautilus door but couldn't open it. I really thought I was stuck for good. Or it was a sign that was the trailer for us. Which we did buy that model.

So far we like our Nautilus better than the glass shower doors, pleated plastics doors, fabric pleated door, or curtain of any other RV we've owned. Time will tell if it holds up but so far no issues. I'd probably replace with another of the same type if this one fails depending on how long it lasts.
