How to tell when my freshwater tank is full

Hello everyone, just working my way through the how to’s of our new 280. The manual says, make sure not to overfill the freshwater holding tank when filling. But it doesn’t say how to check it. Other than the panel on the inside, how do I know when my tank is full?
    Thanks

There are numerous posts on this topic if you use the search function on the forum (top right). I watch for a trickle out of the overflow tube underneath the trailer by the fresh water dump valve. The moment I see a trickle coming out, I immediately turn off the water source. I then set the panel to "Dry Camping," hook up the outside shower hose, open the outside shower faucet, and run it for about a minute after the trickle from the overflow tube stops. This depressurizes the tank and clears the overflow tube so your water won't siphon out during travel.

BTW - welcome to the forum! You can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

Hey thanks, I was thinking something similar, wouldn’t have thought of using the outside hose to let a some out. Appreciate it.

When I fill my fresh tank I either gravity feed until water starts flowing from the overflow tube or if I am doing a fresh fill from the docking station I do the same, but with the gravity fill cap off so there is no pressure built up. I also installed a Ball PEX valve on my overflow tube and turn it off to insure that water does not siphon out while I'm driving.

I use a water flow meter attached to the hose and stop before it hits the overflow.

I use this one but any one should do. I also use it when I flush my back tank so I know how much I'm using and then when I done flushing to ready it for the next trip.
