B&W companion
Is a 20K companion enough hitch for a 2022 395ms-r. F350 with puck system. Getting close to limits of hitch But I already have the hitch from my last RV.
Thanks for you input.

I tow a 397TH with a gooseneck mount companion slider. 20k trailer, 20k hitch. I'm usually around 18k. Rarely more than that.

That is a tough call. I am an engineer, and much prefer having excess margin on things.
We have a new 2021 395MS. We opted for the 8k axles and brakes that put our GVWR up to 21k lbs. Our trailer loaded up for a weekend at the track with 3 motorcycles and about 25 gals water, 25 gals of gas, and a bunch of our "stuff" was 19,860 lbs.
Our trailer is probably on the heavier side with the axle/brake upgrade, generator, 3 season doors and porch, dual pane windows (which I have heard can add nearly 500lbs), etc.
I have the 25k hitch. You would probably be fine with the 20k unit, but you might be right at the edge.2020 Ford F450 Platinum

I got a new 25k companion. Just too close for comfort for me even though the pin box is only rated at 21k.
Check those tires!
