1.Anyone using the Andersen ultimate and how well does it tow? - We used one for several years (with a Reflection 337RLS). It towed very nicely... with a dampened pin box (in our case, a Demco Glide Ride).

    2. Can the turning point pin box be swapped out for another type of pin box? - According to eTrailer, the Turning Point is welded to the frame and cannot be replaced. Another forum member confirmed that with their dealer prior to purchase.

No, you can't change the Turning Point pinbox out for another pinbox.

You also cant use the turning point feature with the Andersen ultimate hitch. You meed a standard 5th wheel hitch that can use the locking wedge.

Yes I understand that, but I beleive some are using the andersen with the turning point pin in locked position.

I'm glad you understand as some others have been confused,

I am not an AUH fan being an engineer. You might want to search and read up on failures and issues before you buy. They don't react well to sudden loadings. The hitch may void your warranty as it is not approved by GD or Lippert, unless that has changed.

This is just my humble opinion and I am sure others will disagree.

I have been using an andersen to tow a 303rls now for 6 years and 25000 km and IMO it works A1. But I was inquiring as to the use of it with the turning point pin when in locked position. I cannot see the difference in the turning point pin when it is locked out than any other lippert pin box.

For those of you interested this is what Andersen has to say:

I have an andersen hitch. Can the hitch be used with the turning point pin box? E trailers basically says it can't

It can be however the kingpin would just need to be locked in place to be compatible.

I am more interested in what Lippert would say. It's their warranty!
