    Batteries for Reflection 303

We bought a new 303RLS in February. We had installed a second battery in our first trailer a Reflection 230. I spoke to a friend, who has some experience in the RV industry, about installing a second battery in the 303. He suggested installing two 6 volt batteries rather than an additional 12 volt claiming we would get more out of the six volts than the 12. Any thoughts on this?

Way more amp hours in the 6v series setup depending on quality of battery...other than that, not sure if the converter is good for it or not...someone else will chime in soon.

We have had our 303rls for two years and I installed two US made 6 volt batteries and it has worked great. We do a lot of boondocking and it has served us well. This year I added a 200 watt solar panel and it has kept the batteries charged for a week of living off the grid at our favorite lake in Montana. Just make sure you hook the batteries up in series and the onboard inverter will charge them just fine.

We have been using 2 6v batteries almost since we got the 303 in '14. The converter is fine for 6 v batteries.

If you decide to go with LiOn you would need to address the converter.

As Marcy said the original converter will charge the batteries. Keep in mind though that it will take twice as long to charge them as what it would take to charge 1 battery.

I installed 2 lithium batteries in my 278bh. They are both 12v and 100ah which gives me a total of 200ah when we camp. I also put in an inverter/charger. But the batteries have been great so far and the 2 of them weigh as much as one agm battery. Kinda pricey at 400.00 each but worth it.

We installed 2-6v AGM batteries in our 260RD along with solar from the get go. The factory convertor works well with them and the solar keeps them topped off when stored. So far no issues.

Could you attach a pic of how you mounted your batteries please?

I need to do this as well. Can you post a picture of how you handled the batter box and what brand batteries you used? Inquiring minds, you know?
