351M-R Basement Mods done.
Basement mods finally done on our 351M-R. Took longer than I wanted, but was trying to fit it in between my little dude's baseball games/cub scouts/etc, work and wife's plans. It also gave me a chance to fully inspect the rats next of plumbing, electrical & HVAC lines in the basement. You can definitely spend a lot of time attempting to clean that up.
• Replaced WFCO converter with a Progressive Dynamics PD1961ALV to maximize charge on the Battleborn LiFePo4 batteries when on shore power.
• Replaced the plastic water heater check valve for a brass one and the two plastic 90-deg Pex fitting to the water heater with brass ones as well.
• Added 4 water leak detectors in basement area.
• Straightened out the basement wall & added plexiglass to the back. Had to move the transfer switch for the main wall and needed 61in of length so turned water pump 90deg (able to use same screw holes) and cut down two of the big looping water lines with brass 90's.
• Installed a 26x60 MorRyde slide-out tray in newly squared off basement.

Would a 28x60” slide have fit? Just waiting to receive my 381M and I’m considering my options. Great mod BTW!

The limitation is the basement door. The 26in wide model is as big as you can go to get through that door on a 351M. Given the 381M is the larger garage version of the 351M... it won't fit unless they have some sort of design change in the meantime.

I hope you like yours more than I did mine. I had one installed by the PO on a Montana Big Sky, and I really thought it would be great. I never did grow to like it, I always felt like it ate more room, than the convenience, or rather, the perceived convenience rated. I definitely don't feel the need with the smallish basement on the 351. Most of the stuff stored in the basement is too bulky to really take advantage of a slide. In our case anyway. Diff'rent strokes...

Another thing i did was move the vac close to door so it was easy to reach and no cargo would hit and turn it on while bouncing down the road.

That is an excellent move. Did you have trouble maneuvering the hose to keep it connected? Mine does get turned on every once in a while. But Peggy really likes that vacuum under the steps. Come to think of it, that is probably closer to the actual stairway where it is now. I may have to add that to my list.
