I use WD 40 on my rails and gears. Here comes the firestorm.

Not "regular" WD 40, but "WD 40 Specialist Dry Lube with PTFE"

I looked all over town for the CRC shown in the video and no one had it in stock, or even in their system. (NAPA, Auto Zone, Oreilly's, hardware store)

The slide worked much smoother and quieter after the first application.

Seems like garage door lubricant would be a good option for slides too?

As a new rv owner I found the 2 videos and your comments very interesting, helpful and confirming my belief that if 2 surfaces slide on each other they should be lubricated. But also it is important not to attract dust and debrie with just any lubricant.
My slide is a little jerky presently so I will be lubercating it with PTFE in the spring

Thank you all for this information and thoughts regarding this controversial topic.

One thing I have noticed is the rails on the front of the slide seem to pick up dirt from the road, more so if traveling through rain. This causes jerking and rough movement if left too long. A periodic spray with CRC Power Lube PTFE is effective at cleaning as well as a lube. It appears the carrier solvent dissipates fairly quickly so only a coat of PTFE is left behind. I bought a can 2 years ago with plenty left.

Really great to see how he does this

This is a follow up video where he shows the components of the slideout H frame, how it works and if you need to remove it, how to, as well as where to lubricate and why.
after all the opinions I have seen on the slideout lubrication , this makes a lot of sense.

    thought I would share this

I will find the video if you need it but I would bet that I have a Lippert vid showing how to lube the gibs, but NOT the gear path.
