Broken Leaf Spring Hangar - 2021 - 303RLS
Pulled into campground... noticed tires askew. Got under and looked.... Broken hangar. leaf is against the frame. So... aside from upgrades, how do I go about having it fixed?
We're full time and added a couple more days here. We're in Arkansas. Maumelle COE. Went 385 miles today. I'm thinking this happened after we got off the highway and there was some bumpy road. Nothing we haven't experienced.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I would look for a good, experienced welder with a portable rig who can come to you. Call GD Customer Service and get a ticket started so they will reimburse you for the cost if still under warranty.

DO NOT try to repair that hanger either. There's a reason it fractured and any repair will just make it more brittle. The hangers come in standard sizes. You need the width of you spring and the measurement from the base to bolt center. Any trailer supply will have them in stock. A fabricator that has a press can make you one in a flash too. Have it replaced and then reinforce them if you are full-time.

If you are still under warranty you could and should reach out to Lippert service and see if they can offer up a mobile tech or at least a suggestion for a welder. You may be extending your stay a bit longer.
You can limp to a welder by using a couple ratchet straps and some wood as a spacer above the spring. Find a welded cross member to attach the strap to twords the rear and another above to hold things as tight as possible. You won't be able to drive fast but it will enable you to move to a welder if you have to... this trick was told to us by a Lippert mobile tech.
I thought they started adding the V cilp support to the newer units..you don't have it but do suggest adding it to all the hangers you have them. A quick search will find mention of the clips in several broken hanger threads.

Had the same problem last year with our 303, Grand Design said to call Lippert which I did and they said to get an estimate. I took FW to a truck spring repair facility who welded new hangers on and also reinforced them. Emailed the invoice ($600+) and they reimbursed the total cost.

When I had to have my frame repaired I called Lippert immediately and didn't bother with GD.
Lippert wanted photos and estimates. While all that was going on I found a good welding shop locally where I was camping and had them do the work. The photos and estimates finally caught up with Lippert and I just emailed them a copy of my repair bill and photos of the work and they reimbursed me very quickly.
They nor I mentioned anything about warranties and their finally communication when they said they'd send the payment was this it was a good will payment as I had no other claims.
I'd guess a good local welder would have mobile units and likely has spring hangers or can fab one.
You might consider the extra cost of reinforcing all the hangers as a good insurance policy for the future.Larry KE4DMG

Sound like a good idea to bring an extra hanger while you travel. If one breaks as shown in the pictures, does the welder remove the residual upper part of the hanger or weld the new hanger over the existing part? If the residual part is left on the frame, the new hanger will be slightly lower than the others. Thanks
