new 303 owner - question about holding tanks- fresh water.

Hi all, so picked up the trailer last weekend and camped at an RV park- full hook ups. This weekend we will be doing some dry camping at the coast. I was going to try to fill the fresh water tank when i get there, i guess that would be better to tow it dry- less weight. So when I'm don't camping and i have water still in the fresh water tank - how do I dump that?

    Thanks
    Ted

Welcome to the forum Ted! Congrats on that new 303. You can find the drain valve on the driver's side near the axle. Just pull the gate valve handle and it will dump rather quickly. Enjoy that new rig.

Heh Jim- what color is this handle? The opening look like the grey/ black tank drain valve?

Hey while I'm thinking - I was wondering what the two plastic red and blue tubes that stick down out of the bottom of the trailer- near where u hook up the sewer line....

    Thanks
    Ted

Welcome to the forum Ted! The red and blue tubes you are asking about are the drain lines for the hot and cold water lines in the camper.

Ted, for what it is worth, it is usually easier for me to fill up at home before heading out. The 200-300 # of extra weight really do not effect the mileage, stability when pulling the larger 5th wheels. And much easier when you arrive at destination. Not a big deal, but thought I'd try to give you another option.

Hi and welcome to the 303 club . We always leave some water in the tank unless it will be sitting without being used for a long time. It comes in handy for emergency pit stops and for some cleaning up once home without hooking to water.

Welcome Ted. It looks like Nor Cal is becoming a hotbed for 303 owners. You made a great choice.

Welcome! And, what Gary said. We leave around 10 gallons in for potty breaks, washing hands near dump, and black tank rinsing after dump.
