I understand the reason to alarm a minimum pressure; but I am not clear as to what event would trigger an unsafe increase in pressure. My thinking was if pressures are properly at cold temperatures, I need not be concerned about a pressure increase. Thanks for any insight in helping me better understand.

Unsafe pressures can be caused by heat buildup which may not show up on valve stem mounted sensors properly. Or if your tires normally run 120psi when hot, and now their running 125psi when hot, there may be an issue arising that needs looking into.

Brake failure where the pads are sticking or bearing going bad will create friction and heat which would increase pressure.

The min/max temps are impacted by ambient temperature which in turn affects cold tire pressure. My boy had to adjust morning pressure multiple times on his Imagine when moving from Boise to NH with side stop in Space Coast and points in between a year ago Feb.

I read Cooper's reply of 180F max as a not to exceed max. They were aware that the sensors are valve stem mounted when they responded. I think I will set my thresholds a little tighter and watch for awhile during travel but I'd probably set my min pressure about 5 lbs lower because underway, I shouldn't be losing any pressure and if overnight it alerts, I'd still want to inspect and up the pressure.

To make things a bit more complicated, the max pressure on my factory rims is 123, not that 2 PSI will make a difference. But that makes me wonder what the max pressure of the rim is.

It's interesting because I've found a couple of discrepancies between the individual documents in the suitcase and the Solitude manual - lug tightening sequence for example.
