There should be a control for the on-demand water heater in the bathroom (at least that's where it was on my Reflection). If it is set to on, the system may try to heat the water. If the propane is off, it won't be able to start the fire. Cure: set the control panel to off.

Ditto - Sounds like thermostat is on but with no propane it is trying to ignite. After several attempts to start I assume the blower goes into a vent mode to clear out unburned gas that might be present. Then tries to re fire the burner. Not sure how many times it would attempt to start before timing out?

Verified, the TouchPad in the bathroom is powered off. Still having exhaust come out of the furrion

I know I'm late to the conversation but this is our first time with a tankless hot water heater and was researching this as well. I came across this video and seems to be the simplest although you manually activate and turn off once it has run long enough to get the hot water in the lines.
