Goose Ball FORWARD Offset w/Longbed.
There are lots of discussion about using a B&W offset goose ball adapter with short beds to move the hitch point toward the rear of the truck thus preventing the rig from hitting the cab of the truck and allowing the use of a gooseball hitch.
What about using it to move the hitch point forward on a long bed?
Can it be done by installing the offset ball backwards?
If it can be done is there still enough room to prevent a rig-to-cab collision on a Ford longed?
I'm thinking if you could move it forward it would let the front end of a long bed take on more weight for better weight distribution between front and rear. Is this bad thinking?????Larry KE4DMG

I’m not sure about cab to cap clearance. I would be more concerned about how much clearance there would be between the trailer and back of truck bed. Would there be enough room to drop the tailgate?
