Paradise by The Sea Beach RV Resort Oceanside CA

Planning a trip in April from Tulsa - Amarillo - Albuquerque - Flagstaff - Twentynine Palms - Oceanside. We would like to drive less than 500 miles per day. We want to overnight in the Flagstaff area and near the petrified forest national park. Our destination is a beach, any beach really, on the Pacific Ocean where we can sit for a few days and watch the surf. We are looking at Paradise by The Sea Beach RV Resort in Oceanside, CA but it gets mixed reviews. I’d appreciate any suggestions for full hookup campsites along this route (pull through if possible). We are pulling a 31’ fifth wheel with a 1 ton truck. We are using RV Parky too. Thanks in advance. Mike

We have never stayed there, but it is definitely not on the shore. It is very close, but not close enough to see or hear from your rig. It looks like there is a very nice walking path that will take you to the beach, looks like 5 to 10 minute walk. Could be nice.

We have stayed at Chula Vista rv park and loved it. It is right next to a marina with nice parks and walking. Kind of surrounded by ship based industrial though. 5 minute car ride takes you to nice restaurants and shopping.

Thank you. I’ll look at that.

There are two great Military campgrounds nearby on Camp Pendleton. My first choice would be Del Mar Beach about one mile north of Oceanside and right on the beach. The second would be San Onofre which is about 20 miles north and has a few beach spots and several on the bluffs over looking the beach. Good luck!

We stayed at Paradise for 2 months, Nov 2019-Jan 4th 2020.

It is a nice resort. Expensive. I believe we paid $1200/month. Electricity is something like .22/Kilowatt so our bills were $80 in Nov and Dec respectively.

The people that run the place are nice. They keep it clean. Short walk to the beach with occasionally homeless in the park you walk through to get to the beach. The RV spots are not very big but long enough for your rig. Picture below was our old rig at Paradise in 2019.
Be sure to have an outdoor mat. All RV sites are dirt off the concrete.

Pool and inground hot spa are kept very clean. Laundry facilities too.

We love O-side. Great restaurants and bars. Everything is a bicycle ride from Paradise. We only used our truck for groceries once a week.
If you like sushi, try out Harney's Oceanside Lounge. Expensive but WORTH it.

We would walk to the beach with our dog every night for the sunset.

As you exit Paradise, take a right, then first street left 1 block up. on the left side is a GREAT mexican grocery store with the best Carne Asada you'll ever taste! Take it back to your camper and make some tacos or burritos! Primo Market is the name. You can get food orders to go too if you don't want to cook.

We stayed at Chula Vista RV Park in the Spring and they said they were closing it this fall. The built a whole new resort up the street, and much more expensive. If you're thinking of Chula Vista, I'd check to see if they're still taking reservations.
