    Damage to rear corner moulding

Coming out of the storage yard the other day, I caught the edge of the driver's side rear corner moulding on the gate latch.

Ordered & received a new one, doesn't look that difficult to install, anyone have experience in
    replacing it?

Thinking it's pretty straight forward and easy. . Some good silicone should hold it in place

Silicone does not make a good adhesive - and is not intended for that application. I would use some construction adhesive or Gorilla Glue and then seal the edges with silicone.

Oops, forgot the word adhesive. Funny how omitting one word can change things.
I've used silicone adhesive for small repairs like that on a few occasions with great results. Ususally try to keep a small tube on hand.
