Topper on slide for winter ice?
Just got a new (to me) 2019 2800bh and we were hoping to use it some this winter on the weekends. I’m worried that the ice might collect up there at night and wear on the seal. Does anyone have experience with the slide in the winter?

Well, if you don't have a topper, and you have to bring the slides in before they can thaw/dry out, you will get a bit of a mess inside. We only stayed a few times where ice was an issue. We had no problems with the slide seals.

You actually might be better off with a slide topper for winter camping as it might prevent ice to buildup on the slide roof. But I have zero experience with this. Hopefully our more experienced winter members will pitch in soon.

Our previous RV did not have slide toppers. We were delayed several hours in departing on two separate occasions trying to get the ice off the top of the slides before bringing them in (three slides). All this had to be done from the ground with a ladder carrying up buckets of warm water and pushing a broom because the roof was too slippery to get up on. I did not want the slides to bring that much ice into the rig only to have it melt all over the place while rolling down the road because the interior was above freezing. It was miserable. We have slide toppers on our Solitude, now, and the toppers will push the ice off in sheets as the slides are retracting.
