I finally got an opportunity to get the dual battery box installed. It was tight but it's in and secure.

Why use 2 6V batteries instead of 1 12V battery? What is the advantage?

You plug the 2 x 6v in series which turns it in a 1x12v battery. The combined 6v will give you more ah then just a single LA.

Now I get it. Thank you.

So do you guys connect the 2 negative terminals together and the 2 positive terminals together or the negative from one battery to the positive from the second battery?

You connect one pos to one neg to bridge the two batteries, then one pos and one neg to the rig.

Also because they are 6volt batts they only have 3 cells each and the lead plates are much thicker making the batteries much more robust.

FWIW, the 6v are larger and heavier so it's not a solution for everyone.

Thanks for the information. My 2022 Imagine 2670 should be here in about a month. I will look into doing the 2 6V batteries.

If you want more battery storage capacity than standard then you either need to go bigger/heavier or pay outrageous prices for Lithium.

Totally agree, just wanted to point out to the newer members that they are larger and heavier but you get more capacity. In my situation, being close to my max payload, adding more weight to the tongue is not an option. Lithium is expensive initially but the big advantage for me is I'll be able to relocate the battery inside over the axles thus removing weight off the tongue.
