First Time 5th Wheelin - battery issues
What started as fun tent camping, eventually was a used class A, trade in for a new class C. Recently traded in for a beautiful Solitude S class. Feels roomier, beautiful design thoroughly thrilled.
One catch we cannot figure out. Our battery dies regularly….. everything is closed up all slides in, friends come to see our big beauty and it’s dead….again.
Should this happen? Key is out. It’s off. And yet it drains ??

There are parasitic draws on the battery (past the disconnect switch). Depending on how these things are connected when the rig was built you could drain a battery pretty quickly. And once a battery is dead, it's likely to not be revivable for good use.
Things that can be connected - smoke & carbon monoxide detectors, the clock on your radio, radio memory, emergency brake apply, front landing gear, front compartment lights. Not all (or any) of these could still be powered with disconnect key out. Do you have your fridge running when stored?
Most people will just do a "real" disconnect by removing one of the connections directly on the battery. Or moving to solar/lithium battery option.Last edited by livinthelife; 10-30-2021 at 06:41 PM.

Your batteries are off .... When they are in the off position they will not take a charge.
Put the key back in and turn them on. The battery disconnect switch can be confusing. When the switch is in the "off" position, the batteries are off. With the switch in the "on" position, the batteries are on.
Your batteries still have a parasitic draw on them. Some folks chose to put in a true disconnect. I just disconnect the battery terminals. YMMV.Geoff and Cheri

I've mounted a switch like this: https://www.amazon.com/Nilight-Water...2-0dd6e83b6876 to the outside of my battery box. Cheap and easy mod; no need to open the battery box every time you want to connect/disconnect. I had your same exact problem; this fixed it.

I take it you don't have the ability to have it plugged in where it is currently parked?
