Help with swapping out converter on 350M

Attempting to swap out the converter on my 2016 momentum 350M as I am switching to lithium phosphate batteries. Running into a little snag with the ground connection and wanted to seek some input before moving ahead.

My OEM converter that I'm removing (wf-9865) has what I would describe as a "passthrough" ground connection. The wire passes through one end at out the other, with the set screw pushing from the top, as the ground wire extends onto the automatic transfer relay switch.

The converter I'm looking to install (PD9160AL) has more of what I would call a "regular" connection. Stick the end of the wire in and clamp down.

So I guess question is, would it be safe to simply snip the ground wire where it previously connected to my OEM converter, and then stick both ends of the ground wire into the ground connection on my new converter?

That's what I did when I replaced my converter/charger for the same reason. If I recall, the new converter/charger had two places for ground wires, though. If yours only has one and it's big enough, just twist the ends of the ground wires together well with a pair of wire pliers, stick them in, and tighten the screw well. You should be fine.

That's what I was thinking. And yes, just one spot for ground on the new one.

Thanks for the info. Needed a little reassurance before moving ahead

PS... (my favorite thing): Welcome to the forum! You can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

Just for a little added reassurance, my 399 was the same way. I just cut it and discarded the unnecessary part of the ground wire. Make sure to leave yourself some excess slack when you cut it or you'll be installing a brand new ground wire which can be a hassle due to how everything is shoved behind that wall.
