    Suction hose not working

    Good morning all,

We just purchased a new imagine 3250BH 2022. We took it out for a week and now need to winterize. Followed all the steps up till the suction hose and pump and not pulling the antifreeze into the lines. No matter what we try it will not put the antifreeze into the lines. We have flipped the valve by the pump for the suction hose. Have tried different tricks from the internet. Called customer service and the guy said to cut a hose and use a funnel into the city water port. This did nothing as well. Please help…..

Is your water pump working? If you put water in the fresh tank and set to DRY CAMPING mode (no city water turned on), does the pump come on to operate the sinks?

From what you describe, my first question is: Is the water pump on?

There should be a switch on the control panel inside the trailer, where your slideout switches are.

    Stupid question.

Did you hook it up where you normally put the water hose from the campground spigot or the gravity feed for the fresh water tank?

If the latter, it would take several GALLONS of anti-freeze before you saw anything come out of a faucet.

Did you prime the pump? If my on-board pump sucks any air it does not work right. I have never winterized so not sure if this applies. When I fill my fresh water tank using the water pump I always fill the hose with water then put it into the bucket to pull water from so it will not suck air.

The problem with following the winterizing directions is they get you to drain water first. This gets rid of the pump prime....

We pump rv freeze first, then drain low points and water heater. No problems.

I drained the tanks, then pumped antifreeze through the system, as was described in our manual. We had no issues with the pump sucking antifreeze out of the bottle. Seems to me that if the pump won't suck anything because it lost it's prime, it's a pretty poor pump.
