    Hi All,

Arrived safely in Gulf Shores and absolutely LOVE IT. This may turn out to be an annual feature. Thanks for the advice - I'm a "just in case" sort of person (former Boy Scout - Be Prepared!) but we decided not to take it this time. So far, so good, no bugs at all. Sandee005, hope you made it back OK.Click image for larger version.

We are at St George Island and when temps get in mid 70s bugs come out. Take it if you have room.

1350 miles. We went about 250 per day, and even though we drive at about 68 mph, the actual average with breaks seems to be 50mph. So 27 hrs from here to there.

No fun winterizing when the daily high is 35. But nothing froze on the return, so all was good! Bummer, did find a couple small propane leaks on the return, but it needed the regulator recall addressed anyway, so will schedule an early spring time at the dealers for a full inspection/repair.

First time was for a few days about 5 years ago. Even though it was late April, the temps were starting to get a bit toasty for this Northern lad! Tried planning a few other times, but didn't work far enough ahead to get a decent amount of time - 1 or 2 weeks. In just idle looking spotted the opening for Oct-Nov just a few weeks ahead, and jumped on it! Reconfirmed how much we liked it, so we entered the "Hunger Games" lottery for winter long term sites for the 22-23 season. Opening bell was at 8:00AM 11/15, and one minute later there were 140 submissions. Well over 500 by mid -morning. We got our first pick, an on-the-water (interior lake) site, from Jan 1 to March 31. The hope is to get a week or two next Oct., take advantage of their storage option, then return for the long stay. Many questions about logistics to follow as we figure out how to become snowbirds!

    Us to!
Although we are thinking a month or two in AZ, TX, then a month or two in AL, FL. So many places. Don't know how you pick one to try without being there first.
