    Bigger Tires or not?

Folks I am about ready to replace the tires on our 2016 2600rb. It has 205/75/R15 now, I'm thinking of going to size 225/75/R15. Has anyone does this, or what are your thoughts?

    Thanks

Should be OK as long as you have enough clearance (3 1/2 to 4") above the tires.

The aspect ratio is the same. The diameter of the tires should not be affected.

225/75R15 is, in fact, 1.2" taller than 205/75R15 which will result in a clearance reduction of .6". Granted, it's not much, but it's there.Click image for larger version.

But the width has changed, which when multiplied by the aspect ratio, will result in a taller tire. The aspect ratio would have to change for the overall height to remain the same. Drop the aspect ratio to around 70 the tire height will be closer, still a little high though.

At any rate, the increase in diameter is not going to require the 3-4" clearance that some on here have claimed.

I think they're just saying to allow for spring movement, and vertical wheel travel.

    205/75/15 are 27.1" dia.
    225/75/15 are 28.1" dia.

    You'll lose .7" of clearance.
