Buying a 31mb, real world pin weight?
Hello all. I currently own a 2019 Imagine 2800bh and am going to make the jump to a 5th wheel. Love the 31mb. Just wondering what actual pin weights 3-mb owners are getting? I love my Imagine and I’m sure I will love my new Reflection just as much.

Look over in the Hitch Weight Survey thread https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/show...-Weight-Survey
There is at least one 31MB in there.

Thank you. Did not know that existed. There was one listed. Hopefully more will respond here or there so I can get an average. I appreciate the help @AIIRs307

Using 23% of the GVWR (a pretty standard rule of thumb), a fully-loaded 31MB will put about 2,700 lbs. on the pin. Don't forget to include the weight of your fifth wheel hitch and occupants when subtracting from the truck's payload.

I've got a 31MB and although I have never weighted it and we think the pin weight is about 2400-2500 lbs. I tow with a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax with air bags.

My pin weight on the factory spec sheet is 1968. While I have never weighed mine, I don't know how you could get too high. Just talking pin weight, you would have to put an awful lot of stuff in the bedroom and the bathroom to get to 2500 pounds on the pin alone.

Weighed out setup awhile back and got 2530# of pin weight and was 21% trailer loaded weight. Had about half of fresh water tank filled, drain valve is behind axles so not sure how much if any of that weight adds to pin. DW and our two girls load the closet space and bathroom, outdoor fridge storage space full, pass through full, front storage full, underbed storage is probably only storage area that is not full towards front of trailer. Trailer got loaded up a lot faster then I was initially thinking. During the shopping period, eventually just started just running pin weights based on 22-23% on 5th wheel GVWR. Takes the payload guessing game out of it and not worry too much about loading up the storage areas the trailer provides.

Mine runs between 2100 to 2200 with a full tank of water and our gear and the GMC squats a bit.

Thank you all it helps greatly hearing from actual 31mb owners. This helps with the purchase of my new truck. Going to go with 1 ton single rear wheel.
