Change out Dometic refrigerator to household refrigerator

Does anyone know of a company that will remove the Dometic 4 door refrigerator and replace it with the household refrigerator. We are tired of the problems with the Dometic refrigerator in our 310 Solitude.

I know of several folks who have done it themselves or hired a good mobile tech to help them. You would need to make sure it's a counter-depth residential model that will fit in the available space. (The -R models that come with a residential fridge have 18 cu. ft. Samsung units).

My dad just did the same thing for the same reason. We installed a kitchenaid SxS. Keep in mind that with a residential you need an inverter for it to run when not on shore power. If your permanent probably not an issue but if you travel you'll need one to keep it cool while traveling.

We were able to do it ourselves. I gave him my old inverter and he already had lithium batteries which help with runtime though not strictly necessary. He modified the opening and wired everything up.


If you have trouble finding someone to handle it and can't do it yourself, the JC conversion Rob mentioned would probably a much easier option. It would probably be a less expensive option also.
