    My Pictures Are Sideways

Can anyone tell me why the pictures that I post are all sideways on this site? They are all right side up on my phone and iPad. Example follows. Thanks

Your iOS (and Android) devices automatically rotate photos based on what it thinks is "right side up". If you download a photo editor app, it SHOULD load the photo in the original orientation it was taken in. Then, you can rotate the photo, save it, then upload it to the forum in the correct orientation.

I've found opening my photo and making a minor correction to it (I typically remove a row of pixels), then saving in the correct orientation will solve this problem.

I'm pretty sure this is caused by bogus EXIF data on the photo. If you're in Windows, try this before uploading ..

Select all the files you want to delete EXIF metadata from.
Right-click anywhere within the selected fields and choose “Properties.”
    Click the “Details” tab.
At the bottom of the “Details” tab, you'll see a link titled “Remove Properties and Personal Information.”
    Click this link.

I see a lot of rotated images when I upload them to forums from my phone via a PC. The pc will typically auto rotate and it looks good until the forum uploads them. I just remove the attachments, go back to the image and crop a small tad off one corner and hit save. The PC will correct it and then upload it again and you are good. So you can do that if you are using a PC.

We have the technology to land on the moon and talk to the astronauts while doing so.....but we can't rotate images or talk on a cell phone if a tree is between us and the tower. Brilliant stuff. LOL
