Pullrite Superglide 4100 (#16K) Replacement Head Unit

I’m not about purveying shame, but SOMEONE bent the spring-loaded activator lever that sets the jaws in motion to lock. (Okay, it could have been me, but I’m getting memory issues …[emoji849])
Would y’all try to get parts to repair, replace the head unit or just buy another hitch.
Thanks so much!Click image for larger version.

Update: Contacted Pull-rite and they offered a discounted price on the head unit. Total price shipped was just over $350.

Easy-peasy… yup, I said it. No shame here.

It’s amazing how good people will be to you when you are simply kind and polite. [emoji846]

I bent that latch release several times (replacement kits are free from Pull-Rite). It was from putting too much upward stress on the hitch - from trying to get a little level without unhitching or hitching/unhitching with the trailer too high/hitch too low. I finally bent something in the head and had to replace the head unit. Like the doctor said, I "don't do that any more."

Thank you, Rob. I hate to admit my fault… and repairing it would have only increased my shame.
I bought the original used for $400… buy once, cry once… right? I figured it may have contributed to the disengagement of the trailer so best to replace the head and eliminate that potential issue again. Lazy Daze mechanics simply asked “ why in the world did you buy a Pull-Rite”? [emoji849][emoji58][emoji849]
I think I am still ahead of the game, even with my $250 copay. The insurance carrier said “Mr. Lee, this wasn’t your fault. It was a conflict between the truck and the trailer”.
    I’m like, “right??!”

I have an older (2006) PullRite Super Hitch on my GMC with that same mechanism. Now I'm thinking maybe I should get a some spare parts for the "just in case" scenario. Would anyone of you happen to have a number for who you spoke with about replacement parts? Thanks

I love my Pull-Rite. It's very reliable and super-easy to hitch and un-hitch. There was just a learning curve up front and I've not had any issues since.
