    Thanks for the note Rob. I'd much rather install Whirlpool for warranty reasons you stated earlier. Would you mind giving the model numbers of your washer and dryer?

I know we are limited due to size and the dryer needing to be 100v, but I just wonder if there are other brands/models to choose from aside from the Splendid ones I see at camping world.

    Also, any tips on the install? I thought there would be a guide marker for the dryer vent but I don’t see anything in the closet.
    I doubt calling GD will help. On mine (and others I've heard from) they didn't put the sticker(s) in the right place in the first place. As someone said - it's like they never actually tried to install a washer dryer.

    Also, as someone mentioned, you are quite likely to find the doorways to be too narrow to fit the machines through. You simply remove the door and one side of the door jam and it will fit. I like to remove the latching side of the door jam so the hinge locations for the door don't move.

    Then you decide where the vent should go. Remove the portion of the inside luan where you think the vent should be after (very carefully) measuring the inside and outside of the RV. Once the luan is off remove the styrofoam insulation to inspect for no studs, framing, etc. and complete the hole. Using a 4" hole saw you can score the luan on the inside to remove it and once the styrofoam is removed you can make a pilot hole from the inside and then complete the hole from the outside to get a nice finish.

    If you washer connections are anything like mine you will never again get to the water and drain fixtures again without relocating them. Like I said - GD has no idea about installing W/Ds and probably couldn't care less since they've been doing this for years the same bad way.

    I have the same issue in my Grand Design 397th, What did you do to get the washer to fit through both door ways?

    We have small Miele stackables in our garage. They are slightly bigger than a Splendide and might be a tight squeeze through doors or into a closet intended for "RV" machines. They do have very exacting dimensional drawings in their spec sheets though. We are very, very happy with them.

    Washer is a WXF660 with their TwinDos system. These are 2 bottles of detergent that go into a bay in the bottom. The washer dispenses what it needs automatically. They seem to last 2 - 3 months before replacing.

    Dryer is TXI680. It's a heat pump dryer, so no vent & uses very little energy for a dryer. Cycles do take a little longer, but nothing crazy. The moisture collects in a water tank that you empty every few loads, or you can set up a drain line as well.

    @Nikoli, @houlster,

    The door frame to our W/D closet had to be removed (and replaced) to install our Whirlpool stacked washer and dry set.

    Since this is a relative old thread, the best ways to get folks attention are:

    1) If you use "Reply With Quote" (to the right of "Reply") as I have here, folks will know to whom you are responding and that person will get a notification.

    2) You can also tag folks using the "@" symbol and their user name (as I have done yours) - they'll also get a notification that way.

    3) Finally, if you choose to get a paid membership (nominal cost and well worth it), you can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

    Forum Actions (on menu bar) -> Edit Profile -> Edit Signature (under My Settings on the left)

    @houlster Thank you for the quick response, I'll get on taking the door jams apart or off, both to the bedroom and the washer area door jams look flimsy and appear to be stapled on the top and bottom edges of each of the door jams. I'm just gonna have to be careful so as not to break them.
