    Ordered new 2022 F350 - trading in 2020 F350

In this crazy truck market I just ordered a new 2022 F350 SWR CCSB Diesel

Checking with several dealers prices were all over the place. Most dealers wanted up to $7,000 OVER MSRP and very few would honor X-plan pricing. X-plan on the ordered truck is $4,450 BELOW MSRP, that’s a $11 ,450 price difference.

I found only 2 local dealers who would order with X-plan of the 12 or so I checked with. So the next step was to have them value my 2020 F350 CCSB Diesel Lariat Ultimate which I paid $72,000 for last year. One dealer offered $67,500 and the other $74,000. THATS $2,000 more tha I paid for it.

I could have ordered equivalent equipped 2022 Lariat with x-plan for only a $680 difference but I ordered a Platinum for $3,895 plus my truck.

So X-plan price on a F350 with a MSRP of $82,255 was $77,805 ($99 ABOVE INVOICE) and they are giving me $74,000 for my trade. With tax, fees etc the difference is about $4,500. The other nice thing about X-plan is fees are limited to $100 where Florida dealers routinely charge between $599-$999.

So for $4,500 I get a 2 model year newer truck and move from a Lariat to a Platinum.

    Now the wait begins.

Sounds like people that qualify for the X Plan are lucky. Not me.

Anyone can qualify for X-plan. Join EAA.ORG for $40 and you will qualify for X-plan. Or join Mustang Club of America for $25 and you will qualify. Each requires that you’re a member for at least 90 days at the time of delivery of your vehicle.

    I qualify 5 different ways
1- retiree from a partner company
    2- EAA member
    3- Mustang Club member
4- DAV.ORG Disabled American Veteran organization lifetime member
5- Own at least 100 shares of Ford common stock [F] for at least 6 months

Well I never... Finally sold our 2004 and 2005 Mustangs a year ago but never joined a Mustang club while we had them. I ordered our 2022 F150 a month ago, so I think it's too late now. But we did get it for 7.5% below MSRP so that felt okay given what I was seeing elsewhere. Will definitely consider this for future. Thanks for sharing!

The one in rural Okeechobee. Gilbert Ford. It’s a small dealership.

Okeechobee is heavy cattle and horse country with lots of trucks on the road.

I know that dealership. A good friend who lives in Okeechobee delivered vehicles all over the US for Gilbert for several years.

Hi Jerry. We cannot wait! My '04 just doesn't have the power anymore although I still love the truck. We test drove a 2021 (non-Powerboost) and it had a ton more power than ours but we weren't towing. So I just hope that power comes through while we're towing and I don't regret not getting a diesel, which is what I thought we would end up with until I saw the Powerboost. Fingers crossed.
