2022 346 FL -R Water heater issue
So I run my WH on both electric and gas similar to other campers I have owned, however I run out of hot water in my shower within 5 min. I have checked that the outside shower is definitely off as I have read that could mix and cause this issue. Is there anywhere else that could cause this problem. I have a 12 gal WH and should not be running out this quickly.

Hmm. Are all the bypass valve settings correct and in fully closed/open positions? That's pretty quick to go through 12 gals of hot water. Does it make any difference if you shut off the electric heat? Curious if the propane is kicking on as it should?

Have you checked the hot water temperature with a meat thermometer? Your hot water temp should be 140 F.
If your temp is lower, try only heating it with Propane or Electric, test both at least one hour apart after running plenty of cold water through your hot water tank.
If one heat source works and the other one doesn't you now know which one to fix.
My guess is that your Electric Thermostat is bad and your Propane is not properly firing up. Of course I could be wrong and your Propane is not working properly and your Electric is also not working properly.
I don't quite understand why you use both sources of heat all the time. I like to use the source that is appropriate for my campsite (Electric with hookups, Propane for boondocking). Additionally, I think of the two heat sources as backups to each other.David and Peggy

You can never go wrong with tankless hot water system. No more Navy showers and no limit on how long you stand soaking up a long hot shower.

I had a tankless water heater on my 2012 Tiffin Phaeton, I never liked it. At least it had a heater in it for use at sub freezing temperatures. I don't think the new units come with heaters. I never had a problem with the 6 gallon tanks I had before, and certainly not with the 12 gallon I have now running on gas and electric.
hodom01 There must be some kind of problem with your hot water system.
